
Biography
Henrique Cavalcanti, (1994 - São Paulo (capital), born into a family of artists, began his studies at age 16 with private teacher Gabriel Garrett, playing electric bass, studying a classics of Rock repertoire , a little of Blues and Jazz foundations.
A year after starting his studies, he decided to experiment with classical music in acoustic bass, having played in Sesc Consolação chamber ensemble (Bass lessons with Bob Souza -Director and conductor of the chamber ensemble: André Pretzel), at the Suzuki center ( with the same supervisor and conductor) and at the Municipal Conservatory of Guarulhos (double bass lessons and conducting the Chamber Orchestra by Miranda Bartira).
After approaching classical music, he decided to start studying composition at FIAM-FAAM. He studied with Guilherme de Camargo at EMESP in the Early Music Plucked Strings course.
Currently, he is back at EMESP and also conducting his own research on this repertoire, including European folk melodies and Sephardic music.
His studies in ancient music accompany him since his childhood. A fascination for ancient history, medieval games and tales, classical antiquity and fantastic tales was his main interests since his early days.
